Gita uses trauma sensitive and somatic approach in teaching yoga to help individuals attuned to their bodies, focus the mind, and learn self-regulation skills. Classes will be conducted in a group setting and patients will be guided through gentle movement to release tension and stress from the body and mind in a safe space. Practice will include breath work, asana (poses), seated meditation and psychoeducation to help foster self-empowerment and aid the healing process. Gita will support patients to move at their own pace and will offer pose modifications so that they fully benefit from the practice.
